Wonderful Winter Fun!
Winter fun filled our classrooms this week as the children explored seasonal activities that blended creativity, movement, and hands-on learning. The children began the week by creating snowy igloos using LEGO bricks and white paint. Seeing their designs take shape was exciting, and each finished igloo reflected the child’s own approach and creativity. Later in the week, the children enjoyed painting snow globes. This activity invited them to explore color and motion as they worked, encouraging imagination and careful control. The children also took advantage of the nice weather this week with some outdoor play. The fresh air and active play provided a perfect balance to the week, supporting physical development, cooperation, and joyful connection.
Each day offered opportunities for discovery, helping turn simple moments into meaningful experiences.
The children created their own igloos by stamping LEGO bricks into white paint to form patterns that resembled ice blocks. As they dipped, pressed, and repeated their designs, they strengthened fine-motor skills, practiced pattern recognition, and explored cause-and-effect. Each igloo was unique, and the children took pride in watching their creations come together.
Another favorite activity was making simple snow globes using paint. The children enjoyed experimenting with colors and movement as they created their snowy designs. This activity encouraged creativity, sensory exploration, and hand-eye coordination in a calm and engaging way.
The children loved being outside this week to enjoy the warmer weather. They played with a variety of balls and rode around in toy cars together! This outdoor play supported gross-motor development, social interaction, and provided a refreshing opportunity for children to move, imagine, and connect with their peers.
