Bookkeeper
We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to join our finance and administrative team. In this role, you will help maintain accurate financial records, manage accounts payable and receivable, support payroll and tax-related tasks, and assist with budgeting and financial reporting.
This position is ideal for someone who is organized, precise, and comfortable working with financial data. The Bookkeeper will play an important role in keeping records accurate, supporting daily financial operations, and helping the organization maintain clear and compliant accounting processes. This is an in-person position at the Odenton office.

Skills:
- Experience with bookkeeping, accounting, finance, or related administrative work
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and basic financial principles
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations
- Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation
- Familiarity with payroll processing, tax-related tasks, and budgeting is preferred
- Experience with governmental accounting standards or nonprofit accounting practices is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
- Strong communication skills and a professional, dependable work style
- Key responsibilities include:
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate general ledger records
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
- Support payroll processing, tax filings, and financial compliance tasks
- Assist with budgeting by tracking expenses and organizing financial data
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation
- Prepare financial reports and help ensure records are accurate and up to date
- Maintain organized financial documentation and support internal recordkeeping
- Work independently while communicating effectively with the administrative and finance team
- Help improve financial processes through accuracy, transparency, and proactive problem-solving
