Assistant Teacher/Floater

We are looking for enthusiastic and dependable Assistant Teachers/Floaters to join our classroom team. In this role, you will support Lead Teachers with daily classroom activities, help implement engaging lessons, and assist children across different age groups. This position is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and wants to gain hands-on classroom experience. As an Assistant Teacher/Floater, you will help create a nurturing, safe, and inclusive environment where children can learn, play, and grow with confidence in different classrooms. We are looking for assistant teachers/aids/support staff at: Columbia Location; Ellicott City Location; Gambrills Location
Skills:
  • Strong classroom management skills to maintain an effective learning environment.
  • Experience working with children on the autism spectrum or with behavioral management techniques.
  • Ability to assist in lesson planning that aligns with educational standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with students and staff.
*No experience necessary, we are willing to train the right candidate!
  • Key responsibilities include:
  • Assist Lead Teachers with lesson planning and classroom activities aligned with curriculum standards
  • Support activities related to literacy, math, creative play, social skills, and early learning
  • Help supervise children and support their social, emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and accessible classroom environment
  • Support inclusive classroom participation for children with diverse needs
  • Assist with daily routines such as diapering, toddler care, snack time, cleanup, transitions, and rest time
  • Encourage children’s independence, positive behavior, and healthy classroom habits
  • Work with classroom team members to adapt activities based on children’s needs and progress
  • Communicate professionally with teachers, staff, parents, and guardians regarding children’s progress or observations
  • Float between classrooms as needed to provide support across different age groups
