Assistant Teacher
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher's Aide to support our educators in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will assist in the daily operations of the classroom, providing support to children with diverse needs, including those on the autism spectrum. This role is essential in fostering a nurturing atmosphere that promotes academic and social development.
We are looking for assistant teachers/aids/support staff at:
Columbia Location; Ellicott City Location; Gambrills Location
Skills:
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain an effective learning environment.
- Experience working with children on the autism spectrum or with behavioral management techniques.
- Ability to assist in lesson planning that aligns with educational standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with students and staff.
*No experience necessary, we are willing to train the right candidate!
- Key responsibilities include:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Support students with individual learning needs, particularly those with autism or behavioral challenges.
- Help maintain classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and engagement.
- Facilitate small group activities focused on literacy education and math skills.
- Prepare materials and resources for lessons, ensuring they are accessible to all students.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher regarding individual student needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities.
